She is living with the nicest couple and will live a very loving, active, and spoiled life with them. We couldn't be happier for this little sweetheart. We are thrilled for her happy ending and her new mom and I plan to keep in touch and have playdates in the future. :)
Liberty has been officially adopted! She is living with the nicest couple and will live a very loving, active, and spoiled life with them. We couldn't be happier for this little sweetheart. We are thrilled for her happy ending and her new mom and I plan to keep in touch and have playdates in the future. :) Liberty was our first puppy foster and she has been one of the favorite four legged friends we have shared our home with. She entertained us daily with her silly puppy antics. Our home is much quieter with her gone. She was a great young lady and behaved well. She has such a big heart and has a lot of love to give her new family.

While doing yard work, Liberty thought it would be helpful to pick a pepper from the garden and bring it to me. I am baffled how she was able to obtain this because I cannot find evidence of a single tooth mark. We have a few updates to report on:
I hope she gets adopted soon. She still has all the cuteness and energy of a puppy, but has some definite perks for a potential adopter being a big girl now. :) We will be at the Atomic Dawg in Berkley, tomorrow for an adoption event. Hope to see you there. We took Liberty up to the cabin for a few days. She enjoyed being outside and taking turns snuggling with everyone. After a quick introduction to the water, she was running in and out, splashing, running along the beach, and swimming all on her own.
Today Liberty went to a meet and greet at the boarding center. She had fun seeing her sister, Glory, and meeting lots of very nice people. Liberty had a good snooze on the way home. After having Liberty in our home, this is what we know so far: *Please note in the slideshow above, we have been babysitting for lots of family and friends over the holiday, so the other dogs are already in homes. Just Jackie and Liberty are looking for homes.
After a brief trial run with a new family, it was decided that Liberty wasn't the best fit for them and they weren't the best fit for Liberty. This sometimes happens with our fosters and it never discourages us. Bringing a dog into a home is a HUGE commitment, and I truly believe that every family isn't a perfect fit for every dog. I appreciate when potential adopters aren't afraid to be truthful when they sense it isn't the perfect fit for them or the dog.
As soon as we found out Liberty was back in DDR's care, we immediately invited Liberty back to our home to foster. We love this little girl and are amused by her daily. In a new twist, while Liberty was on her meet and greet, we welcomed a new foster to our home, Jackie, so for the first time we have two foster dogs! It has not been dull... hence the lack of posts lately. It has been quite the adventure and my husband and I have had several conversations about how we can acquire a larger home so we can keep both dogs.... sell our cars, some organs... neither of these seem viable options at the moment. Please send me any suggestions you may have. ;) We are also watching my mom's dog, Frankie. I think Liberty is mistaking her for one of her white siblings, because she has been snuggling with Frankie all day. At first, Frankie seemed quite annoyed, but I think she just caved in.
Although this may not seem like a big deal, we have been working very hard to get Liberty to sit before receiving her food. She gets very excited at meal time (jumping on us, putting her paws on the counter). She is little now, but we want to get her out of this habit before she becomes a big girl. Liberty does a great job of walking on the leash by not pulling however she zigzags a lot and I often found myself stumbling over her and I didn't want to accidentally hurt her by stepping on her. We decided to attach a leash from Liberty to Milo so she could use him as a role model. Her walking has been going fantastic. Right after Buddy got in his new home, DDR asked me to take Liberty, one of the 16 week old "Freedom" pups.
Liberty is an absolute doll! We know this sweetie won't be with us long, so we are soaking in all of the puppy energy and cuteness while we can. Lots of pictures to come. She really enjoys snuggling with my husband on the recliner, sleeping, exploring the toy bin, licking Milo's jowls, and following us wherever we go. Liberty at first we very timid, however, she quickly warms up and shows her agile side. She tries to climb up on to anything she can. She is a good little girl on the leash and so far, appears to be potty trained. (yay!) She protests when being put in the cage. For her first night, she gave us quite an earful from the cage when it was time for bed, however, her theatrics only lasted five minutes. We then were able to sleep a full eight hours! (another yay!) |
