In the week Liberty has been with us, this is what we have learned:

Although this may not seem like a big deal, we have been working very hard to get Liberty to sit before receiving her food. She gets very excited at meal time (jumping on us, putting her paws on the counter). She is little now, but we want to get her out of this habit before she becomes a big girl. Liberty does a great job of walking on the leash by not pulling however she zigzags a lot and I often found myself stumbling over her and I didn't want to accidentally hurt her by stepping on her. We decided to attach a leash from Liberty to Milo so she could use him as a role model. Her walking has been going fantastic. Right after Buddy got in his new home, DDR asked me to take Liberty, one of the 16 week old "Freedom" pups.
Liberty is an absolute doll! We know this sweetie won't be with us long, so we are soaking in all of the puppy energy and cuteness while we can. Lots of pictures to come. She really enjoys snuggling with my husband on the recliner, sleeping, exploring the toy bin, licking Milo's jowls, and following us wherever we go. Liberty at first we very timid, however, she quickly warms up and shows her agile side. She tries to climb up on to anything she can. She is a good little girl on the leash and so far, appears to be potty trained. (yay!) She protests when being put in the cage. For her first night, she gave us quite an earful from the cage when it was time for bed, however, her theatrics only lasted five minutes. We then were able to sleep a full eight hours! (another yay!) |
