So excited we get to hang out with this guy for the holidays. Mr. Ziggy is a big 'ol lover and has already made us laugh so much.
If you follow DDR on Facebook, you've already read about Ziggy and his sister Zoey (see below).
The above post was from about a week ago. After some reevaluating, to give these two a better shot at adoption, DDR is trying to separate them because finding an adopter willing to adopt a bonded pair can be hard to come by. Ziggy seems to be the most dependent out of the two, so DDR wanted him placed in a foster with another dog who could show him the ropes. Jackie, our resident diva and DDR alumni, has helped fosters like this in the past and I think this will be a great fit. He'll have a quiet place with another doggy role model to help him adjust.
I thought he'd be having a rougher time on day one not having his sister with him, but between meeting Jackie, and getting LOTS of affection and treats from us, he was much more friendly and open for affection than I was anticipating. Meeting your foster day one you never know what to expect.
We can already see some signs that he is timid, especially of leashes, going for a walk, loud noises, sudden movements, etc... but we know that in spending time with Jackie, he will follow her example and gain some confidence. So excited to see the growth that will happen during Ziggy's time in foster.
