We've noticed that Ziggy is a bit scared of enclosed spaces. A week in and he still won't enter our tiny bathroom area. Because of this, I anticipated he would not be sure of entering the car.
We've had a foster like this before and it takes time. Sure, could we just pick him up and put him in the car? Maybe. But why risk the trust we have built. Instead, we opt for the much slower option in hopes of yielding a higher reward- getting him in the car while maintaining and building trust.

I started by just sitting in the parked car in our backyard. Car off. Jackie in the car to show Ziggy it is a safe place. And of course, I had pockets full of treats. The next few videos show the progression of only few minutes.
Lastly, a little shout out to my training assistant, Jackie.
