Well, Miss Cookie has been with us for about six weeks now. I know she has received some adoption applications, and although she has not been formally adopted yet, I feel like her time with us will be coming to an end soon. I wanted to make a quick post that her future family can reference.
Food: Cookie is eating twice a day, about 1 and a 1/2 cups each meal. She eats Halo brand dog food (the orange bag, chicken flavor "Spot's Stew). She also likes apples, bananas, ice cubes and peanut butter.
Energy Level: Cookie is still a high energy pup, but she has definitely calmed down since her arrival here. Her favorite napping spot is on a dog bed, looking out the front door. She loves walks and playing in the yard.
Toys: Cookies loves toys! Every time we get her out of her cage, she happily wags her tail as she holds a toy in her mouth. She does great with tough tough toys such as nylabones, kongs, and tug ropes. She likes squeaky stuffed toys as well, but these leave the house looking like it just snowed :)
Cage: Cookie is crate trained. We keep her in her crate when we leave and at night. Sometimes she starts to whine in the early morning, I don't think to go potty, but just because she wants to be near us. Recently we tried her out of the cage for a night and she did great. Just slept in a dog bed at the foot of our bed (see the picture below).
Other dogs: Cookie and Milo play well, but it can be rough. She can be mouthy if she wants his attention, giving his leg a little nibble, but she has never hurt him. She loves to cuddle with him as well and follow him around the house. In walks, she gets excited but does well meeting other dogs. Sometimes her play with Milo is very quiet and sometimes she makes these super loud growls. I think she tries to sound tough, but she is so harmless. :)
Car rides: Cookie's first few car rides were so stressful for her. :( Getting her in the car required literally dragging her into it. I can't believe how much better she has gotten. On a recent car trip, she hopped right in- no problem. She was so calm and relaxed.
To conclude, we have loved having Cookie in our home. She makes us laugh every single day with her silly antics, silly noises, and sweet demeanor. We will miss her.
We would love for her future family to keep in touch with us about her progress and to send us pictures and updates.
Also, we are always able to babysit :)
