Just got back from a visit up north to our cabin. Buddy was our special guest.
He did well on the long car ride and adjusting to a new environment. My niece and nephew were also there, so Buddy had more time to spend with kids. The kids could go in the toy bin, take Buddy's toys and play with him- no issues. My nephew especially enjoyed telling Buddy to "sit" and "shake". Although Buddy is still a young dog, my entire family was just so impressed with how gentle he is with the kids.
The yard isn't fenced, so Buddy had to be on a lead most of the trip. Although he did well, he definitely enjoys a yard more where he has more room and freedom. He is fully potty trained, however, when on the lead, he seemed a bit unsure where to do his "business". I would have to walk him a bit to go, whereas at my house, he just runs to the back lawn and relieves himself immediately.
Buddy enjoyed being outdoors and exploring the lake. He was a bit timid at first but once he saw Milo was venturing in, he soon followed. He didn't go in very far, but he became more relaxed and even frolicked a bit.
