As previously posted, we are putting Buddy in his crate every night. On the first night he did whine a bit, and now a few nights in- not a peep.
Luckily, I don't work much in the summer, so I am able to be home with the dogs often, but I've been trying to practice leaving Buddy in the cage for a little bit during the day, to prepare him for his future home when his owner will need to go to work. He is doing great! No fuss going into the cage at all. I've been leaving him some pieces of kibble and a good, sturdy chew bone to keep him busy. When I left and returned, I heard zero barking. His blankets were arranged in such a way that you can tell he had been curled up sleeping. :)
