Last week during our morning walk we noticed Aidan was walking with a small limp. He was very cooperative in letting us examine his leg and paw. He wasn't wincing or whining when we were examining him so were left puzzled what was the matter. We decided to take it easy the next few days, however it continued to get worse to the point where he wasn't even putting weight on it. He was in pain and looked very uncomfortable. :( Throughout these few days we had been in contact with DDR and they were able to get him to a vet. Long story, but after staying two nights for observations/ examinations, getting x-rays, etc... it was decided that he most likely has a soft tissue injury. The vet gave us pain meds and anti-inflammatories, and strict instructions to limit physical activity. A shout out to DDR for getting him into a vet and getting him the care he needs. He is still walking with a slight limp, but he is in far less pain. With all of our fosters, having healthy happy dogs is important to them. We helped get him to and from the vet which was about a 45 minutes drive. A big plus from this whole ordeal is that he had more practice with car rides. As you can see, he is feeling more comfortable in the car. :) |
